Alma House is located on a sunny hillside the edge of the Pembrokeshire village of Abercych on a quiet back road that follows the Cych and Teifi valleys.
Sandy beaches are easy to reach after a pretty drive along the Teifi valley, it takes a leisurely drive of about twenty minutes to get to Poppit Sands and Mwnt, both blue flag beaches.
Our garden faces South East and catches the sun right through the day.
At night you'll notice that the sky is particularly free of pollution from artificial lighting, you can see thousands of stars on a clear night, the Milky Way is plainly visible as you walk into the garden.
Back on earth you'll need to do the shops and although Abercych only boasts a Post Office the neighboring village of Cenarth a couple of miles upstream has a super-modern air conditioned Nisa mini-mart and petrol station open 8 till late. Cenarth has two good pubs as well as a fishing tackle shop and gift shops.
Newcastle Emlyn is the nearest town, it has just about everything you need there and has all the charm of a typical historic Welsh market town. Cardigan is slightly further away, it's the county town and has a lot of independently owned stores despite the inevitable competition from Tesco, Somerfield and Aldi all of who have built stores there. Both these towns are particularly picturesque set as they are by the beautiful Afon Teifi and surrounded by hilly fields and woodland.
